>So, let's by all means have a playoff, but let's not pretend that it will >settle everything. Does anyone out there really believe that Villanova, >a three-time loser to Georgetown, was really the best basketball team in >the NCAA in 1985?? I do. Villanova beat Goergetown (who was considered to be the best) Memphis ST., North Carolina, Michigan and Dayton to win the distinction of being the best team in college basketball for 1985. Anyone who followed Villanova basketball for atleast the last four years knows they always had the potential to do what they did last year. Just because they realized that potential in the last 6 games doeasn't mean they weren't the best team. I mean if they would have started the season the way they ended it I think they would have been rated #1 in all the poles. Also the way I judge how good any team in any sport is, is by the way they play when the money is on e table not the way they go thru their schedule. ed p.s. The 3 games against Georgetown; 1 went to OT, 1 was a 2 pt game and the other was a 10 pt game that Villanova was in until about the 3 min mark.
