ReSent-to: "Laser Lovers": ;

we have made what we consider a useful discovery.

we bought a laser printer from symbolics about a year ago.
we have been buying our supplies (paper, premix, toner)
from symbolics. we recently switched to buying these supplies
from imagen since both companies use the same engine (canon
lbp-10) and the supplies (from imagen or symbolics) are made
by canon. the reason we switched to imagen is because of all
of the trouble we were having with symbolics; their accounting
department was screwing up badly with our orders; they were
billing us too many times or too much, billing us for other
people's stuff, and billing other departments on campus for
our stuff.

the supplies from imagen get here much faster (about a week)
than they ever did from symbolics (month or so at least).

currently our mood is one of wanting to avoid symbolics as
much as possible.

A number of messages have appeared on this list recently which are
critical of interactions with Symbolics. I, for one, would be quite
interested in hearing a reaction from Symbolics on this matter. I
therefore invite their participation in this list. If Symbolics feels
leery about possible "commercial use of the Arpanet," they may direct
their messages to me at "Furuta@MIT-MC" (which does not use the
Arpanet) and I will be glad to forward them to the rest of the list.
