From ram%umass-boston@CSNet-Relay Sat Dec 10 23:08:48 1983 Our experience is also that imagen has better supply service than symbolics, but don't count on one week deliveries because sometimes imagen has to wait on delivery from canon, and at least once that caused us a one month wait. Imagen may have bigger inventory now, and also would rush an order if you were willing to pay the extra freight. But make sure you specify rush since just saying "air freight" might very well get you air freight but no fast scheduling inside imagen..... Our practice has been to re-order pre-mix, which we use much faster than implied by canon literature, when we are down to about 3 weeks supply. By the way, we have experimented with other papers, and found that Meade Offset papers give superior, if expensive results. Their 70# papers look magnificent for final copy. The Offset Enamel goes through the printer a little better than the plain paper, especially on humid (or is it dry???) days The latter sometimes will not feed more than an inch, giving a somewhat trivial paper jam condition. The Enamel paper makes you think you are reading a glossy magazine with thick pages, and can dry very slowly. We think that Meade 60# paper may be just the ticket, if it exists, but haven't experimented further. bob morris interleaf
