From mark%umcp-cs@CSNet-Relay Wed Feb 1 00:37:14 1984 I recently overheard some rumors that the 1200 engine (base of the QMS and LN01 laser printers) has reliability problems in heavy use. The details were vague, but might relate to the fact that the heat dissipation capability of the device is exceeded if more than a certain number of copies are made in a given time period, and that then all sorts of terrible things happen, not the least of which is that Xerox voids the warranty. The imagen seems to have no such problems, although its print quality is not as good. What is the experience out there with this Xerox marking engine? I would have expected it to be a more robust product than the Canon engine since it has had more time to get the bugs out.
