From: Martin Huber <HUBER@SUMEX-AIM.ARPA> I heard on the grapevine that QMS will be coming out with a laser printer using the canon LBP-CX engine, in the 4 th Quarter of this year. This is supposed to be compatible with their 2700 based printer. Does anyone out there have more info on this?? -------

From: DIPACE@BBNF.ARPA I am looking at a spec sheet from QMS that shows their Lasergrafix(tm) 800. It is the Canon(tm) LBP-CX engine, so all those spec are the same. The QMS side is exactly the same as the QMS L-1200, 68k et al. It is Plug compatible and the QUIC software commands are exactly the same. It does all the same Bitmap,Vector graphics, portrait and landscape print- ing, down line loading of fonts, etc, etc. The only difference is, of course, there are no tray switching commands and no staker off-set commands. Price is approximately 1/3 the QMS L-1200. QMS is taking orders now and will be shipping in June. They have something like a 70 - 100 units backlog. Hope that is the information you were looking for.
