From: John R Ellis <Ellis@YALE.ARPA> Has anyone used the ImPress commands for drawing ellipses and ellipse arcs? If so, I'd like to hear about your experiences, software, etc. -------

From: Ram%umass-boston.csnet@csnet-relay.arpa seem to work fine. The somewhat trivial drawback is the requirement that they have centers on a pixel. My preference is to specify major and minor axes so that axes of all, not just odd, number of pixels, can be given. On the other hand, I am not yet sure the error is consequential. In our application we tend to have curves >=3 pixels wide, so even a tangent to an ellipse which missed by 1 pixel might not show. Current versions of Impress give up too easily when they can not put the whole path on the page, but Imagen will be fixing this they tell me. They seem as a whole to do better graphics than any other real printer. Bob Morris Umass Boston and Interleaf, Inc.
