From: John R Ellis <Ellis@YALE.ARPA> Just thought I'd let everyone know: the reason our Imagen tape didn't have any 300 dpi fonts was because a gremlin switched tapes to a 240 dpi tape. (Those gremlins can be really annoying.) Imagen sent out a new tape with real 300 dpi fonts. An 8/300 tape that arrived here had a more subtle problem: The fonts were 300 dpi (e.g. each 10 point character had the right number of pixels), but the number recorded in the resolution preamble entry of the RST files was only 240. I don't know about TeX, but Scribe got awfully confused by this, generating incorrect letter spacing. I patched one of the RST files with DDT, and that appeared to make Scribe happy. This is no big deal (I assume Imagen will be sending us a new tape), but I thought I'd let other people in case they have the same experience. -------
