From: "Douglas J. Trainor" <trainor@UCLA-LOCUS.ARPA> Thanks for everyone in this group who helped me with Tektronix 4014 emulation on the Imagen laser printer. The general consensus was that it would be better for me to use the IMPRINT-10's native language, Impress, until we got our firmware upgrade (currently v1.9). Impress has some nice graphics features, like textured region filling and bitmap fascilities. I wrote some code to draw simple filled polygons, and everything looked cool. However, I have run into problems doing anything more complex. It barfs when I attempt to draw ~128 polygons, depending on (I guess) the average polygon size and the number of vertices, and I get a message saying "Not enough memory for page; won't be printed." Unless I am doing something incredibly wrong, this is an intolerable polygon limit. Each of my polygons has just 4 vertices; I first fill the interior with a solid texture, and then surround it with a black border. This effectively gives priority to polygons, with later polygons writing over and obscuring parts of earlier polygons. Anyone got any clues or suggestions? The manual doesn't list any restrictions in this area, so I'd like to hear from someone at Imagen too. _____ / \ <Douglas> \_____/ Arpa: trainor@ucla-locus.arpa UUCP: ...!{cepu, ihnp4, randvax, sdcrdcf, trwspp, ucbvax}!ucla-cs!trainor
