[net.misc] David Bowie query

ark@rabbit.UUCP (Andrew Koenig) (08/13/84)

I have noticed that in some photographs of David Bowie
(notably the cover of Alladin Sane), one of his pupils
is almost entirely dilated and the other is almost entirely
constricted. Is this (a) some built-in characteristic
of his eyes, (b) something he has learned how to do
(as some Yoga practitioners can control their heart
rates), (c) induced by drugs or other artificial means,
(d) retouching, or (e) other?

The reason for the difference in Bowie's pupils is that one of them (I can't
remember whether it's the large, small, left or right one) is paralysed due
to a fight he was in when he was younger, so it is incapable of changing
size. His other pupil functions normally.

Actually, due to a childhood accident, his right (I think) eye cannot
constrict, so it remains at a constant state of dilation.

Kind of a spacey effect, eh?

None of the above. He really IS an alien. But hell, the way he plays, who
cares?

Are you sure that shouldn't be "David Bowie Queer-y?"
