From: allegra!cmcl2!rna!dan@uw-beaver.arpa (Dan Ts'o) Hi, Has anyone tried fonts from QMS other than those supplied with the TROFF package ? Any to recommend ? Do they work well with TROFF ? One particular interest of ours is a font for DIABLO emulation in 12 pitch. The supplied typewriter font is only reasonable for 10 pitch (I believe it is called Q-merican Typewriter). QMS can probably supply this same font in 12 pitch (how does this correspond to point size), but how about Courier 12 ? We would also like this font (or perhaps another) to be used with the TROFF CW (constant width) facilities such as used in Kernighan/Ritchie's "The C Programming Language". We have figured out how to use the ROM fonts with TROFF. Also, others have mentioned Talaris fonts. Are they worth considering ? Anyone yet adapted public domain fonts for the QMS 1200 ? Finally, has anyone tried the QMS DITROFF package ? Does it work well ? Are there other DITROFF filters for the QMS available ? Thanks. Cheers, Dan Ts'o Dept. We have (more or less) integrated QTROFF, plot(5), GPS, diablo mode and lineprinter modes for the QMS 1200 into the 4.2BSD lpr printer spooler, if anyone is interested.
