Now, when we ordered this thing back in September or so, there was talk of a serial- interface option that was ''not available yet''. Has it since become available? How easy [financially as well as hardwarily] is it to swap the parallel interface for the serial one? What we really want to do is put the printer on the 4th floor, and the vax is in the basement. I don't think a parallel interface will drive that far, and it's too many wires anyway! We already know about the ''adapter box'' that converts your parallel interface to serial and back again. Please don't tell us about this; we are not considering this due to the number of ''weak links'' involved. _H* -------
