[fa.laser-lovers] Laser Printer Troubles

We recently purchased a QMS Lasergraphix 2400 to as an upgrade from
the 1200 we own. We were assured that the 3.0 software in the 2400 was
"completely compatible" with the 2.something in the 1200. This seems
not to be the case.

Does anyone know other glitches beyond these problems?

1. The 2400 is now sensitive to NUL characters strewn through the data.
Previously, NUL's were discarded everywhere; now they screw up the
QWIC commands. (I believe this to be an improvement, but it's
    *not* compatible.)
2. Setting horizontal tabs in Diablo emulation mode doesn't work.
It's simply a bug, QMS promises a fix.
3. Certain characters (bits and pieces of integrals, curly braces,
etc.) of our math fonts which are stored in ROMs seem not to
work. This is a fairly new discovery, we haven't diagnosed it
further. The same source file used to work on the 1200.

We've also had lots of trouble with fuzzy copies near the top of the
page. This seems to get better toward the end of a long document,
that is, it's as if it takes a few dozen pages to warm up.

Thanks for any information you can give.
