[fa.laser-lovers] problem with Imagen SET_MAGNIFICATION command

I can't seem to get the Imagen SET_MAGNIFICATION Impress command
to work at all on the 8/300 printer. Has anyone succeeded? Specifically,
I'm using the BITMAP facility to download pictures into the Imagen and
it doesn't seem to like them above a certain magic size. I tried just
drawing a vector to see if it was just the bitmap that wasn't getting
magnified, but no luck there either. My next move (if I can't find a
better solution) will have to be reworking the algorithm as a series of
SET_PATH and DRAW_PATH commands, implementing my own magnification
scheme as well,
but this will be a real pain in the <insert-favorite-body-part>!

The SET MAGNIFICATION command will only work if you have version 2.1 software.
Any of the early versions do have the capabilty to execute this command.

We are running 8/300 version 2.1 software and still can't get it to work.
Other things have been fixed in 2.1 but this doesn't seem to have been
one of them.

``Magnification has been implemented for bitmaps only. Glyphs
and graphics will not be magnified, whether or not the document has
turned magnification on (with the imPRESS SET_MAGNIFICATION
command.

If you didn't get these with your 2.1 diskette you should call
Imagen Customer support and complain. This 12 page document
tells the changes and known problems with 2.1
