From: mcvax!enea!alibaba!lth!anders@seismo.ARPA Hi, I need the advice from you experienced laserprinter users: I would like to build an evironment that makes laser printers available within an ethernet (DECnet) based network of computers. It should include one larger printer (to serve the students) and several small printers (for local use at various departments). All printers should be available to all computers and the printers should all accept the same input format. Various textprocessors will be used on the different machines. There are going to be VAX/VMS, VAX/VMS-EUNICE, VAX/ULTRIX and later on various UNIX based workstations (dont blame me, I was in the US when they choose the OS). - Are there any one with experience from this kind of system? - Should I stick to one family of compatible printers (eg QMS) or to one input language (eg PostScript)? - Any comments, suggestions, experiences etc are welcome. I have seen that troff and Scribe support are available for PostScript printers. Any one working with TEX? Anders Ardo, Dept. of Computer Engineering, University of Lund P.O.
