From: sasaki@harvard.arpa (Marty Sasaki) I would like to suggest that periodically the authors or distributors of software post a message describing the software, it's availability, cost, etc. These postings don't need to go into a lot of detail, but something like "A troff output filter for the Whiz-Bang 9000 is available via anonymous FTP during off hours on Harvard. This version has been extensively tested on 5.8BSD. "For more information call Random Hacker at (617-555-9876) or send mail to hacker@harvard.arpa." I often have someone ask me about an X processor for Y printer. If I saw a posting, then I could just make a phone call and learn everything that I need to know. Having this done periodically will also help new net-folks come up to speed. Marty Sasaki (sasaki@harvard)
