From: Bruce.Leverett@CMU-CS-A.ARPA Laser-Lovers, I am not a stockholder in Imagen or a consultant for Adobe, or owner of a LaserWriter; I am merely an employee of Unilogic, Ltd. But inspired by Drs. Reid and Earnest, I volunteer to do for text formatters what they are doing for printers. Specifically, I will: -- vigorously tout my favorite text formatter, its incredibly easy-to-use capabilities, its portability, etc., while expressing disbelief that any other formatter that might be in use at some zoology department or other could come close; -- demonstrate, via a blind "tasting" using samples of text chosen by me and prepared by me, to be conducted at Carnegie-Mellon, the utter and convincing superiority of my favorite formatter over a well-known rival; -- impugn the methodology used in any tasting not conducted by me, especially if rival text formatters come off well, and impugn the credibility and general moral character of those who organize them while I'm at it; -- conduct a logical tour de force in which I slyly show that my rivals' bumbling querulousness actually constitutes a backhanded endorsement of my own favorite text formatter. I'll be doing all this at the Greater Pittsburgh Custom Van and RV show, between the mud wrestling and the wet T-shirt contest. Don't miss this extravaganza, May 25-27 at the Civic Arena!
