I am collecting examples of unusual and/or difficult text formatting from the viewpoint of more or less common software such as the troff family (pic, eqn, tbl etc), Scribe and TEX. So pretty tables per se do not rate as difficult but two tables side-by-side do. Other examples might be a polygonal blank space in the middle of a page of text (for a diagram say) or line filling within a general polygon rather than the normal rectangular galley. I am also soliciting examples of text formatting that can't be done (as far as I know). Examples include typesetting text with a baseline at 30 degrees to the horizontal or typesetting text on a non-linear baseline. Send as much as you want; I can read 150 pages/hour. I will try to answer responses that ask for answers but may be defeated by recalcitrant mailers. My mail addresses are research!andrew or if the ARPANET is your favourite, andrew!btl@csnet-relay.
