[net.music] A different flavor of music quiz.

The quizz kids@drusd.UUCP (The quizz kids) (01/22/85)

Well, netnewsers, prepare yourselves for another way to waste time
here comes the best music quiz that ever wuz. Unlike other
quizzes that have come and gone, this one does not ask for the
artist's name, or issue date, or any of that kind of stuff. No
need to dig up old album jackets or thumb through old issues of
Rolling Stone or Teen Beat (argh!). All you have to remember are
the lyrics to the songs, and use them to answer the questions
posed. The questions themselves are either actual lyrics or parts
of lyrics, with key words removed (that's where the questions come
from!). Each numbered question will ask about three or four
questions, each of which deals with one song. An example will
  clarify things...
The song is "Sounds of Silence":

Whose my old friend that I've come to talk to again?
                  (darkness)
And who did the people bow and pray to?
                  (the neon god they made)
Where did the sign say the words of the prophet were written?
                  (subway walls and tenement halls)

  Got it?

Songs are mostly rock, with some folk and soul, mostly on the old
side. This quizz will be sent out in three parts, over the next
month or so. Answers will appear sometime in Februrary. All
responses should be sent to {ihnp4|hogpc}!drusd!mazze .
