From: jp%a@LANL.arpa (James Potter) Having accumulated several used up toner cartidges and after just forking over another $100 for a new one, the question occurs: Is there anyway to refill used, but not worn out, LaserJet toner cartidges?? Even if the quality eventually deteriorates, very little of my output has to be first class. A lot of listings get thrown away after they are obsoleted by debugging. And most listings are for my information, not for show. It must be possible to buy a bottle of the right kind of toner and inject it into the inner workings of the cartridge. Anyone have any ideas on this?? Beyond accusing me of being too cheap for my own good. My mother taught me not to throw anything potentially useful away. And, those cartridges sure look potentially useful to me. Jim Potter jp@lanl.arpa P.S. The cartridges are from my personal LaserJet and for my own use.

From: sdcarl!rusty@Berkeley (Rusty Wright) there is a place here in san diego that claims that they can recharge cartridges. they charge $35. we don't have this kind of laser printer so i have no experience with the quality of their work. dunno if they do the work in-house or ship it out. their phone number is (619) 438-2811 and (619) 563-1098.

From: MELNYK.WBST@Xerox.arpa The job requires removing the toner accumulated in the cleaning cavity and adding tonner to supply cavity. Canon does not sell the tonner for this cartridge but you could buy the tonner for one of their larger copiers, I not sure of specific model numbers. You could also reuse the toner accumulated in the cleaning cavity. I have not done this so beware of free advice. Also, you should be aware that the photoconductor degrades and has limited life. Andy
