From: adobe!shore@Glacier (Andrew Shore)

We have had increasing requests for information about TranScript System V
support, and we are pleased to inform you that TranScript release 2 (to be
available in September) contains complete System V source compatibility.

TranScript release 2 contains the following new features:
support for the Unix System V lp/lpsched line printer spooler
support for the Berkeley (Gremlin) ditroff extensions
	a Tektronics 4014 filter
support for additional non-TranScript-generated PostScript files
		(e.g., Macintosh and IBM-PC)
bug fixes and feature enhancements to release 1

Release 2 will be available in three forms:
	single host 4.2BSD VAX/UNIX binaries
	single host source
	site-wide source

We are considering offering a binary version for the AT&T 3B series.

TranScript is capable of driving all PostScript printers, including the
Apple LaserWriter, QMS PostScript printers, Linotype Linotron 101 and
Linotronic 300, and Dataproducts LZR-2660 and LZR-2665.

In conjunction with TranScript release 2, Adobe will also be making
available additional downloadable fonts from the Mergenthaler and
ITC typeface libraries.

Existing TranScript customers will receive information about a release 2
upgrade for a nominal fee.
