[fa.laser-lovers] Macintosh LaserWriter header file - question

From: Peter Milne <PWM@SU-AI.arpa>

We have been using the header file of PostScript definitions which allows
PostScript files generated by Macintosh applications to be printed on
the LaserWriter wwhen it hasn't been
previously initialized with LaserPrep.
Such a situation arises when you wish to send Mac style PostScript lfiles
to a LaserWriter connected via the serial posrt.

For sometime we have been running pretty successfully using the header file
that Brian Reid sent Laser-Lovers sometime back but have recently been
unsuccessful when trying to print PostScript files from MacPaint.

Problem is in the procedure DOBITS - the call to IMAGEMASK at the end of the
Bit Smooth Mode contains an undefined procedure SMOOTH.

Can anyone supply me with the definition of SMOOTH?
Note I am not on Laser-Lovers so please reply direct to me - MILNE@SAIL.

Cheers,

Look back through your old laser-lovers and info-mac archives for
my posting of the version 12 LaserPrep and an explanation of how
smooth works. It is in [SUMEX]<INFO-MAC>LASERWRITER-12.POSTSCRIPT.
