The area newspaper had an excellent editorial cartoon on this idiocy. It showed a young (about 30) woman carrying a doll she has just bought and commenting to her mother about how much she liked it, how much love she would give it, even the "adoption papers" that she got with it, etc. Several children had gathered by on the other side of the fence to watch them. The sign next to them read "ADOPTION CENTER." I thought it was bad enough when I heard people lavished more on their pets than they did on their children. This is lunacy.
