[net.kids] How to amuse a 5-month old

There is a very good book entitled "Smart Toys for Babies from Birth to Two,"
by Kent Garland Burt and Karen Kalkstein, from Harper Colophon books.
My wife and I picked it up in either B. Dalton or Waldenbooks, which are
national chains, so the book should be available just about anywhere.

We made quite a few toys out of the book, and our daughter loved them. It
was really fascinating to watch her with some of them, because you could
almost literally see her learning as she was figuring out what to do. The
toys are fun for the kids, and provide an incentive for them to develop motor
skills, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and so on.

The toys are made from everyday things around the house, and are quite easy
to make. I highly recommend buying the book and making the toys.
