I agree with Penny. 5 or 6 is a little young to understand some
of the most salient parts of sexual intercourse, like responsibility
and respect (of course 18 might still be too young |-)).

My daughter is 3 1/2 and she knows that men and women (girls and boys for her)
are different physiologically and what most of the implications of those
differences are.  I believe that she is well (and properly) informed for her
age.  I hope this is still true when she is 15 and I intend to do my part
to see that it is.
