[net.kids] Child Abuse - action

arndt@lymph.DEC (10/02/84)

The American Medical Association has produced an inexpensive 35-page
coloring book for children that tells them about loving sex and abusive
sex, and the difference between the two.

Written by a psychiatrist (how would he know the difference????), SEX TALK
FOR A SAFE CHILD provides children with ways to get out of difficult
situations. If an adult tries to force sexual attention on a child, the
book advises: "Yell 'NO' that's wrong, stop.' Always tell your mother or
father (what if it IS your mother or father?) so that it does not happen
again"

Information on how to purchase the book can be obtained by writing to:

Re: Child Abuse - action_______________________________________________________

Ken Arndt recently sent an article to net.kids and net.motss referring
to a child abuse pamphlet one can get. It's thoughtful of him to post the
reference, but one wonders about his motives for sending it to net.motss.
Most subscribers to net.motss would probably agree that it's yet ano-
ther attempt on Ken's part to paint homosexuals and child molesters with the
same brush.

So, net.kids subscribers, don't be misled by the Ken's implications.
The fact is that most child molesters are heterosexual, probably because most
people are heterosexual. The best way to protect your child is to look at the
situation realistically.
	'Nuff said.
