The following is a copy of a fellowship announcement that may be
of interest to some students:
The Institute for Humane Studies will award
Undergraduate Fellowships up to $7,500 (tuition plus stipend)
Graduate Fellowships up to $10,500 (tuition plus stipend)
Eligibility Criteria
Claude R. Lambe Fellowships
1. Applicants must have at least junior standing at an accredited
university by the 1985 fall term. Fellowships for students who
have applied to graduate programs but who are not yet accepted
are conditional upon acceptance.
2. Applicants major field of study must be in the social sciences,
law, the humanities, or journalism, and applicants must be pur-
suing or intend to pursue graduate study in those fields.
3. Applicants should have a clearly demonstrated interest in
classical liberal/libertarian ideas.
4. Applicants must intend to pursue an intellectual career.
5. Applicants may not have any other full-tuition scholarships for the
1985-86 academic year.
Application deadline: January 15, 1985
The Institute for Humane Studies is proud to announce the 1985-86 Claude
Lambe Fellowship program. Fellowships will be awarded based on the applicant's
performance, interest in classical liberal ideas, and potential for an
intellectual career. The Lambe Fellowship competition is open to all
qualified students regardless of race, religion, color, sex, age, military
service, handicap, national or ethnic origin.
The amount of the Fellowship award will depend upon tuition costs at the
recipient's university, and on the status of any other scholarships awarded
to the recipient for the 1985-86 academic year.
