Motherhood is the second oldest profession /Erma Brombeck/. Surely Motherhood is the highest "calling" since even overachievers have mothers. If the question is how much time does a GOOD mother spend parenting, that's a very individual question. It depends on individual skills, talents, efficiency, and ability to communicate -- not to mention the ages of the children, how many, how far apart. While being a mother may come "naturally", mothering can be a matter of degree. What TRAINING should a person have to be a GOOD mother? Teachers, for example, have training that help them be good mothers. Rick
