As far as car seats go, we used the Wonda' Chair brand seat. We have been very pleased with it. Our son, almost 3, used it up until a month ago. At that time his new winter coat was just too bulky for the straps to reach comfortably.During the almost 3 years of using this seat I saw several others that I thought were equally good (i.e. SAFE and comfortable.) We searched around alot before buying a toddler seat and bought the Bobby Mac "Wings". The deciding factor between this and other seats which met the same government requirements is that we thought this one is ALOT sturdier looking. As far as spanking goes, I remember being spanked a total of three times while growing up.The last time was at age ten. Needless to say, my folks felt that something pretty bad had to be going on in order to justify using physical force AND they occured seldom enough that they made a big impression. Although a 3 year old can really drive a person to the limit, I endeavor to try to resolve situations without spanking.Time out has been effective. Sonya Hansen
