I am curious how many of you parents let your children sleep with you. Especially those of you who do this most of the time. For those with infants that are still breast feeding, do your babies feed while you are asleep? -- Jason P. Venner @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax,watmath}!utzoo!torcsl

Well, I have to say that I think it is a bad idea to get in the habit of having the kids sleep with mom and dad, even at infancy. I think that it is fine in certain circumstances where the kiddo is scared or if something is really bothering him/her. We put our boy in his own room starting with day 1 and there were no problems with him wanting out or getting scared in there. He now knows that room is "his" and that is where he wants to sleep. I do know of a couple that likes to sleep with their kids. They started it because of the convience of breast feeding, thus mommy didn't have to really wake up to do the feeding. As the kiddo got older, it was still comforting to be in bed with mom and dad. This child is about 4 years old now -- still breast feeds occationally (there is a new baby in the family), and she is afraid to sleep by herself or stay with grandma, etc. I don't know if this type of thing happens regularly, but I think this is crazy! ============================================================================== Dane Meyer (Texas Instruments, Dallas site) ARPA: ==> Meyer%waltz%TI-CSL@CSNET-Relay CSNET: ==> Meyer@TI-CSL USENET: ==> {convex!smu, ut-sally, texsun, rice}!waltz!meyer
