Our daughter was and remains today (at 20 months) allergic to milk. She can drink it on occasion and have milk products, but over an extended period of time her body resistance runs down and she gets strep. It is often the case that the allergy is merely an inability to digest either the lactase or the casein. I, too, have heard that goat's milk is a good substitute for mother's milk.
