i had friends who kept goats (they lived out in the hills of New Mexico). friendly, intelligent... when it was milking time, Marta would call the name of the goat she wanted to milk, and that one would come. now, about the taste. yes, goat milk tastes DIFFERENT than cow milk (and i would assume the same to be true of mare's milk, yak milk, camel milk, etc.... i can vouch for the different taste of human milk...exceedingly sweet) but the particularly strong, or even foul taste, comes about when the females are kept close to males. yes, i know they have to get a little close to get the milk in the first place :-), but my friends had no males (the nannies mated with a visiting billy, who then went back home), so while it tasted like goat milk, it was pleasant and mild. i've bought "fresh" goat milk in health food stores (i guess it was Pasteurized, but goat milk DOES NOT need to be homogenized, the fat is already nicely distributed, so it's better for humans than those micro-fine cow milk fats) and it was pretty good, but not quite as delicious as fresh from the goat. ///|\\\ /// \\\ //{o} {o}\\ ll " ll 'll ~ ll` lll lll ''' ``` ...with fully factory-air-conditioned air, from our fully factory air-conditioned factory. And now, back to the Freeway, which is already in progress...
