We're expecting our second baby in June, and are considering buying a 'bounce-a-roo'. This is a baby seat from Australia, that consists of a spring steel frame and a cotton net. When the baby 'sits' on it, s/he is at a 45 degree angle to the floor. The baby's own weight apparently keeps it in place on the netting, although there is a safety strap. Has anyone had experience with these? Are they really as great as they claim to be (especially in warm weather)? Are they worth $30? Is the optional sunshade (for an additional $18) worth it? Any comments are welcome. Karen Summers-Horton cbosgd!ksh

It's a "Gerry Baby Seat", made by Gerico Inc. of Denver, Colorado. Our Ariela loved lying in it, from about 3 months to 7 months. When the baby's little, you can give her a push and she'll bounce for a while; when she's bigger she can push herself with her feet reaching the floor. You do have to use the strap though - babies can squirm out of it when you least expect it. The seat part on the Gerry is cotton denim, not netting. I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested. Don't know about the sunshade though; we used it inside the house most of the time. Simone Sherman -- {utzoo pesnta nrcaero utcs hcr}!lsuc!simone {allegra decvax ihnp4 linus}!utcsri!lsuc!simone
