One of the first activities our daughter enjoyed was bouncing in her bouncer. It was a pantograph (double armed lever) arrangment and had a rather large (~ 1 foot) range of movement. One day I come home from grad school and there she was, going KASPRONG KASPRONG KASPRONG like crazy. She would arch her back, getting every bit of push she could out of her legs. The bouncer left the ground by several inches. This really impressed me because at the time I still thought of her as a little blob. Her athleticism caught me completely by surprise.
