This is the teacher you leave your son with for 8 hours everyday, if you have no respect for her opinion, I suggest you take your son to another school. I have a 3 year old son which I send to a Day Care School. I have had great luck in communicating with his teacher. For instance, I was told by his school that he had problems in communicating with the other children. I instantly made a appointment with the Doctor, which resulted in finding a "hearing loss" with my son. I value any advise his teacher has to offer me, it seems to have done me good in the past. Yes, you are right, it is hard to admit your child has a problem. Although the sooner you accept it, the sooner your child will be able to overcome it. My advise to you, is to have a doctor examine him, seems like he may have a problem with his feet (if he continously falls) or possiably his eyes (clumsiness). From my experience in Pediatricians, I would also like to suggest that you get a second opinion. My son's ear have been checked many times by his pediatrician although when he was seen by a specialist, it was then noticed that both his ears had been backed up with "fluid" for at least a year, causing him to have a hearing loss. Thanks to all the "Teachers" that care !!!!

I have nothing against the teacher, and respect her opinion. I am sure her opinion is based on the situation as she perceived it. I was just wondering whether what she saw was "all of it" (just as I am wondering whether what I see is "all of it" - therefore the original message): Pierre sometimes acts "silly" to get his younger sister to laugh - he would walk into things or trip himself up (all on purpose) and fall over with a big show (which his sister absolutely loves). My wife was visiting his school a while ago and was helping during gym time. Whether it was her presence, I don't know, but Pierre was doing the same kind of thing, this time to amuse his friends. Now I don't know on what the teacher based her opinion, that I'll find that out at the parent-teacher interview coming up. But enough. Thanks for all the advice (some by mail). No, we're not taking him to the doctor (yet) - he had a check up recently. Yes, Dad will spend more time with him playing (large muscle) games and having fun (and watch to see if something more needs to be done).
