We have had David for one week now. He has adjusted quite well, with no real problems. He has been to the dentist and doctor, and is in excellent health. He starts 1st grade next week and seems ready for it. He understands the gist of what we talk to him about and is trying out simple phrases, names, and nouns. Mostly he jabbers away in Korean with lots of hand motions, acting out, and pointing. When he realizes that we are just too stupid to learn Korean, he will start learning English fast. The others were up to grade level in a few months. We had the usual few days of adjustment of sleep cycles to our time and habits (Korea is 10 hours earlier, and the kids are used to all sleeping together on the floor). David didn't like sleeping in a bed all by himself. Food has been no problem. He doesn't like vegetables much, but takes to everything else (pizza, hotdogs, french frys, spaghetti, and sandwichs were all new to him). He continues to be a true joy, full of smiles, mischief, and affection.
