[net.kids] Where to get

[bug food]

A while back there were a couple of messages here about the
merits of sheepskin blankets for babies. Well, since we're expecting
a new family member to arrive next month, I think I'd like to try one.

Does anyone know where to buy sheepskins? Can they be had in
some sort of "washable" variety (for obvious reasons)? A source in
the New England area would be preferrable.

Please reply by direct mail. Thanks!

Sheep skins are used in hospital for bed-ridden patients. It has something to
do with helping them not get bedsores. I was also led to understand that they
were good for babies, too, for several reasons. They provide a lot of sensory
stimulation (excellent for baby's development). They are expecially used in
intensive care units for premature babies. Apparently, the sensory
stimulation even effects their ability to gain weight. I'm not really sure
how all this works. Maybe you could ask someone on net.med.
