[...good things come in small packages...] Hello Everyone ! I just wanted to drop this announcement and also say a few words about the situation (this being net.kids I fell this is appropriate): Please welcome -- Travis John McGibbon Born: (I know I'm a little slow) May 21st, 1985 1:24am CST Weight: 2 lbs. 13 1/2 oz. Length: 17 3/4 in. This is our first child and I must say that being a little early (2 months actually) certainly was not an expected change/worry along with any others we have/may feel. Immediately after he was born, he was placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Minneapolis Childrens Medical Center, Minneapolis Minnesota. He is now beginning his 3rd week there but will hopefully be transferred to a "transitional nursery" until he can come home in July. I've wondered how many people on the net have been through a similar experience with a pre-mature infant that would care to talk about/share their experiences. Prior to Travis being born, I had no idea of what to expect. In fact I had never even considered the possibility. I was not totally prepared for the stress/worry/pre-occupation and lonliness (for Travis) that this experience continues to evoke. Please feel free to respond with any inquiries, thoughts, questions you may have about him or any of the things we have learned or experienced. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- UUCP: jtm@ncs-med -or- ...ihnp4!stolaf!umn-cs!ncs-med!jtm John T.
