[net.kids] Left-handed in a Twisty World

chris@umcp-cs.UUCP (Chris Torek) (08/24/85)

Speaking of right-handed desks: the University of Maryland has a
number of left-handed desks in some classrooms (notably the large
Physics lecture hall), of which I approve. There are, however,
far too few of these available in general. It seems that the
administration thinks lefties make up about .5% of the population.

In high-school we had the opposite problem. I think maybe the lefties
appreciated the desks so much they didn't get broken as frequently, or
maybe they were all identical twins. There were a couple of classrooms
with 50% lefty desks, most notably in the music dept.
