Child Care Center
Wiggling,squirming,shrieking
teeming with life and purpose
chaotic overlay of small demands
urgently pleaded.
Into this maelstrom I have come
bringing a gift to share
the need to nurture.
Adorable and vital every one
I would not choose a favorite.
But how to share love sliced so thin
it desiccates and blows away
before it nourishes?

WHOOPS! new to the network
My wife and I have just moved to NJ from Cambridge, MA with two (twin)
seven year old daughters. We both work and are surprised at the lack
of after-school programs available in the area. It's hard to believe that we are
the only ones around that require two incomes to support a
decent standard of living and pay back student loans.
I guess we've been spoiled by the excellent childcare (among other
things we miss) available in Cambridge.
Any thoughts on alternatives to the "Latchkey" syndrome?

REFERENCES: <960@mtuxo.UUCP>, <961@mtuxo.UUCP> Where in NJ are you? The Red Bank Y runs a Latchkey program for grades 1-6; they even pick up from some schools. Babysitters (awful word) are not so hard to find; check the bulletin boards in the local supermarkets, ask around in your neighborhood, put a small ad in your local paper. Expect to pay about $3/hr. -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Janet Smuga I've had a great many troubles in my time, ihnp4!mtuxo!smuga and most of them never happened. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
