Ballad of the Little Bittie Birdie
I'm treading very softly
So I can get a glance
At the little bittie birdie
On the bare brown branch.
I'm sneaking through the bushes
And I'm peeking through the plants
Till I finally see the birdie
On the bare brown branch.
Here comes another birdie!
I hope there'll be romance.
Two little bittie birdies
On a bare brown branch.
No need for my suggestion
He begins his wedding dance
The bobbing little birdie
On the bare brown branch.
He wiggles and he jiggles
And he strikes a silly stance,
The lucky little birdie
On the bare brown branch.
I titter and I giggle
And my laughter I can't stanch
At the bobbing little birdie
On the bare brown branch.
But my laughter ends abruptly,
I am standing in some ants!
As I watch the little birdie
On the bare brown branch
And they're biting and they're stinging
And they're crawling up my pants
And I curse the little birdie
On the bare brown branch.
So be careful where you're standing
Or you'll also learn to dance
While you watch the little birdie
On the bare brown branch.
Epilogue
They survived a bitter winter,
They survived an avalanche
And it's sunny in the springtime
On the bare brown branch.
The he-bird's name is Bobby
And the she-bird's name is Blanche
And they're raising bittie birdies
On the bare brown branch.

This could be a Children's book if it
were well illustrated. Any suggestions?
