We received a gift yesterday for our expectant baby. It is a racing carriage. It has 3 wheels (looks kind of like a tricycle and a mountain bike combination). We are very excited about trying it out after the baby arrives, and my husband is even thinking of running a marathon with it sometime. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with this type of carriage. For example, should we wait for the baby to be a certain age before using it? Is this type of carriage sufficient in terms of carriages (i.e. do we still need the more common type of carriage). Anyone have any safety tips? Do babies like going fast in them (my husband runs 6 minute miles on average)? The carriage is pretty expensive--somewhere in the range of $175.00 - $200.00. It looks very well made, and is supposed to be able to go over sand, snow, and dirt. Thanks Marianne Eagan ihnp4 druxp!druxq!eagan

** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** I think the racing carriges are great . I went in a road race recently with my two year old son . He was in one of those cheapo umbrella strollers . He loved it , he loves going fast , and he also loved getting soaked by the guy who was hosing down the runners. However there was a guy running next to me throughout the race with a five month old baby in a racing carrige and it looked effortless . The baby slept the whole time . He told me that the baby sleeps whenever he runs . It looks a little to bulky to take to the shopping mall however great for running and walking. One thing you have to look out for is that the baby may like the ride so much that running with him/her will be the only way to get him/her to sleep. This however would BE EXCELLENT MARATHON TRAINING !!!
