I just called the Wham-o company, and they say they stopped making the Air Blaster about three years ago, and no more in stock. I wanted to give myself one for Christmas, and I'm hoping that one of you fine people might have one sitting in the attic that you could spare. Please? Barry Hayes bhayes@glacier (415) 323-6100 x642

I think that one of the reasons this device was pulled from the market is that some kids kept putting their ears to the nozzle and firing--which could (I suppose) result in ear damage. How likely this was to occur, of course, depends on the kid--I had one for years and never heard of anyone having problems. I guess if you gave it to a very young child there could be trouble. They tended to always fail in the same manner--the cocking handle would snap (plastic). This was not repairable without a new handle, which was generally unavailable. Frankly, I was amazed to hear that they were made as recently as three years ago. --Lauren--
