We use a diaper service. [plug, plug :-) ]. After sticking myself and our first one several times I came up with the following technique: (It's tough to describe without pictures, but I'll try anyway) First side: 1) Match the ends nicely. 2) Take about an inch of it and fold the corner over at a 45 degree angle, and hold the fold. 3) put a pin through the 2 (or 4 if you're using two diapers) layers of diapers about 1/2" from the fold in a downward direction. Notice that the pin never goes toward the baby or one of your fingers. Other side 1) Match the ends nicely 2) Take up the slack and fold the other corner over BUT FOLD IT OVER ABOUT 1/2" FROM THE BABY There should be anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 inches of extra diaper folded over. 3) Pin again through all the layers in a downward motion near the edge of the fold. Again, the sharp part of the pin should will never be pointed at you or the baby. Put on the Rubber pants and give the kid a kiss. For some reason, my wife is not particularly fond of this method. I find that it leaves a slightly looser diaper, but the rubber pants prevent slippage. Since I began using this, I have *never* stuck myself or our baby(s), at all hours of the day or night and through various levels of changee cooperation.
