Do any of you net.astro readers happen to listen to public radio stations which broadcast UT's syndicated astronomy program "Stardate"? Well, I just found out something today: "Stardate"'s script writer, Deborah Byrd, is on the net. You can send fan mail to her at: ...{ihnp4,seismo}!ut-sally!utastro!dipper. Those of us here at UT will, as of today, no longer need to be awake and aware at certain times of the day in order to keep up with the program. We can now read the daily scripts on a special local newsgroup, ut.stardate . (Thanks to Charles Sandel (utastro!charles) for creating it!) --- Prentiss Riddle --- ("Aprendiz de todo, maestro de nada.") --- {ihnp4,seismo,ctvax}!ut-sally!riddle

I set a message to Deborah Byrd, the script writer of "stardate" and suggested she post it to net.astro, so everyone reading this newsgroup could share the scripts. They really are very interesting and cover a broad spectrum of topics. I hope she takes up my suggestion. -- Smoot Carl-Mitchell, CS Dept. Well, actually, the idea was to try out stardate as ut.stardate for a while to give the writer a chance to get used to USENET and then to eventually propose net.astro.stardate. Little did Charles and I know there would be such immediate demand.... -- John Quarterman, CS Dept., University of Texas, Austin, Texas jsq@ut-sally.ARPA, jsq@ut-sally.UUCP, {ihnp4,seismo,ctvax}!ut-sally!jsq
