<> I am interested in purchasing a Celestron 8" f/10 Catadioptric Telescope. Was wondering if anyone had any comments about Celestron in general, and anything about Catadioptric telescopes... -- Call-Me: Dennis Gibbs, Univ. of Md. Comp. Sci. Center. [] I grew up about three miles from Celestron and watched them move from smaller to larger buildings. Generally, their optics are superior, they are not as good as, say Questar, but the light gathering power for equalivalent money makes up for that in my opinion. Three friends own 8 inchers and I would like to get one, too. All paid $900s for complete scopes. Two purchased cosmetic-defect, second scopes from the factory (they have sales occasionally in Torrance). No optical problems. If you can pick one up cheap, do it! If not, they are still relatively good buys. --eugene miya NASA Ames Res. Ctr. {hplabs, dual, hao, vortex}!ames!aurora!eugene emiya@ames-vmsb.ARPA
