Today marks the observance of Veteran's Day in the U.S., and I got to wondering about the presence or absence of veterans on the Net. To satisfy my curiousity, I'm sending out the survey below. I'll collect *mailed* responses for a while and summarize to the net if people express interest. Please respond if you are in the military (Reserve duty and ROTC count), if you ever were in the military, or if you've ever been associated with a "civilian" military unit such as the National Guard. All responses will be kept confidential. **************** The USENET Veteran's Survey: Section I: Background 1. Age: 2. Sex: 3. Citizenship: 4. Country for which you served: Section II: Service (Please answer for each service in which you served) 1. Service: 2. Number of years in this service: 3. What was your most recent rank? (Please use the E or O ranks; e.g. O-2 or E-5 as appropriate, if applicable). 4. In general, what were your duties? 4. When did you join? 5. Why did you join? 6. Why did you leave? 7. What did you like most (and/or least) about your experiences in this service? 8. Do you have any regrets about your military service? 9. Any additional commments? **************** Thanks in advance to all respondents.
