Hi there. I have not seen any msgs in this group since I joined (about two months ago). I have a few questions to throw out into the field. 1) Does anyone know of any good trips/cruises/etc. with intention to view Haley and will actually go to a good area, AND that isn't too expensive??? Or is this a fantasy? 2) Has anyone out there ever heard of the "Quantum-4"? It is a 4" Makustov-Cassegrain made by the Quantum Company, which I believe no longer exists. Does anyone own one, or a Quantum-6? I put a little ad in ASTRONOMY with no response... It's a nice little scope, I resolved M-57 and with a four inch, that's not bad! Exactly what kind of people are there in this group, eh? If there is anyone really interested in this topic (as I am), let's start a discussion on an interesting topic- Black Holes? (too "pop"), quasars? (not much to talk about), The Size of the Universe? Comet Haley? (talk about "pop"). I would really like to get an information exchange with any observers out there as to what is good viewing. Chris Welty CSCI Dept, RPI weltyc@rpi (PHONENET) (but keep msgs on the news group)

Re: Halley Comets Trips For the Northern Hemisphere, merely drive out to an area without light pollution on a clear night. For the Southern Hemisphere, look in the back of an issue of Sky and Telescope (Scientific American and Smithsonian might also have the ads). Trips have been advertized to South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Peru, and the Amazon. Len Tower Intermetrics, Inc.
