On the discussion about astrology being included with astronomy on the net: >I realize that in olden days the two disciplines were indistinguishible, >just as medicine and blood-letting were also indistinguishible, but surely >noone would suggest having both medical and blood-letting programs (are >there any?) on the same newsgroup. Actually that exists...it's called net.med. Catch some of the postings on cancer or arthritis treatments, or the evils of refined foods. There are posters in that group who are some of the best minds of the 13th century. On the other hand, there are some very informed people there. I enjoy reading net.astro for its real information. Net.med on the other hand, is a fun joke most of the time--puncuated by brief moments of sanity. I would hate to see net.astro reduced to that state. Astrology and astronomy are not related subjects anymore. Just consult the Dewey Decimal System as a reference. Astrology can be fun to play around with (for about a week, as its intellectual content is limited), but it is unrelated to any physical reality. I vote for astrology to have its own newsgroup, if there is enough interest. Perhaps it can be called net.earth.centered. -- Sue Brezden Real World: Room 1B17 Net World: ihnp4!drutx!slb AT&T Information Systems 11900 North Pecos Westminster, Co. 80234 (303)538-3829 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your god may be dead, but mine aren't. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
