A friend of mine and I just purchased a new Meade 2080 Eight-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain scope. Basic numbers are focal length 2000mm, f/10. We've both been interested in astronomy for the past 10 or 15 years, so we have most of the basics down. The problem: This is a bare-bones scope (includes a 25mm and a 9mm eyepiece, clock drive, and a 6x30 finder, that's it.) and with all the options out there, we really don't know where to start. We want to do alot of Astrophotography, both deep space and planetary, but can't afford to go out and buy everything at once. (I figure eventually we'll need at least an off-axis guider, illum. reticle, t-mount, drive corrector, filters, etc, etc, etc.) I'm after basic recommendations as to what to start with, and any help at all would be a big help. Thanks in advance. Mike Stalnaker.
