For those of you would like a change of pace from the arguements
between Astronomers and Astrologers:

Perseid Meteor Shower - playing at a night sky near you!

Peaks 06 UT Aug 12 th.

The Moon will be out of the way this year (approx. new)
so things might really be good.

Camera bugs- place camera on tripod. open shutter ~15-30 Min
with lens wide open and chant your favorite psdu..... 
aw, forget it. Just have a good time.

I am planning to spend the night of the 11'th observing the Persieds. I
would be interested in hearing from any others to also observe them.
Particularly I would be interested in (1) your long and lat (2) the
times of observation (ut hopefully), and (3) the approximate zenithal
hourly rate.  (About how many meteors per hour did you see.)
     
By the way I had read a number of years ago that the comet thought to
be associated with the Perseids was soon to return.  What happened?  Is
its orbit that uncertain?
